Why I am in IES

Before I came to this university, I did not know much about IES program. When we took TOEFL at the very first day of school, we had to decide whether to take IES program or not. I did not want to take it because I did not want to let me get so busy with studying hard in school. However, I eventually chose to take it. I think it was pride that made me choose the way.

As everyone knows, it is hard to be in IES, and there are some rules in class. We must speak only English, never Japanese in classroom. We have to keep higher grades than regular classes. We have to have the motivation to improve our English skills. Compared to other classes, the classes of IES are much more academic and harder and teachers give us a lot of assignments.

At the early days of school, I felt really sick of IES classes, and I was so busy with many other things in university life. I sometimes even thought I wanted to retire. Maybe I made efforts because teachers says to do so; not because of my own will. As time went by and classes got stricter, I got so busy, and I came to be able to deal with the difficulties in IES after all.

At first, I was really busy and upset with IES class and assignments, but I got accustomed to them as I overcame each ordeal. Now I like to be in IES program, and I pride myself on being in IES program. It makes me get motivated and gives me a great situation to study.
